Govt Prioritizing Youth Growth Through Moral and Value-Based Learning: CM Sangma

Meghalaya Chief Minister Conrad K. Sangma addressed the challenges and opportunities related to the state’s young population, which comprises half of its 38 lakh residents. He emphasized the government’s commitment to nurturing youth through guidance and values-based education during the release of the platinum jubilee souvenir of St. Xavier’s Higher Secondary School in Tura.

Sangma acknowledged the need for educational reform, highlighting the Rs 3,500 crore spent annually on education amid concerns over quality. He pointed out the complexity of the current educational structure and stressed the importance of cultural preservation in education, advocating for students to learn both Khasi and Garo. The Chief Minister announced contributions including a new school bus and musical instruments for the school band, concluding with cultural performances by the students.
